Why burn tokens?

Token burns are a proven mechanism in crypto: they reduce supply, strengthen fundamentals, and create momentum. By removing tokens, the VISION web3 Foundation reinforces the economic foundation of $VSN while ensuring holders are directly connected to the long-term success of the ecosystem.

For Vision, each burn does more than manage supply. Because burns are fuelled by the fees collected across the Bitpanda Web3 product suite and the Vision fee collection on Bitpanda.com, their scale will naturally grow alongside adoption. Every swap, every interaction, and every new product launched will contribute to the size of future burns — creating a long-term value cycle for the community.

The first step

As the ecosystem is still under construction, the Vision Web3 Foundation has subsidised the first burn from its treasury. This ensures we start as we mean to continue — with accountability and sustainability at the heart of Vision’s development.

With this burn, the total supply has now dropped below the original 4.2 billion tokens, a clear demonstration of the Foundation’s commitment to responsible governance and long-term prosperity for all holders.

Looking ahead

This first burn is only the beginning. Once the flywheel is fully operational, burns will increasingly be organically powered by real usage across the ecosystem. The Foundation’s role will then shift towards ensuring that Vision’s utility, emissions, and long-term evolution are shaped transparently by its holders through onchain governance.

As adoption grows and more products are connected to Vision, the scale and impact of future burns will naturally increase. This creates a direct link between ecosystem activity and tokenholder value — reinforcing VSN as the central force driving both participation and long-term sustainability within the Bitpanda Web3 universe.

The next quarterly Vision burn will take place on December 18, 2025.
