How to spot fake message scams

To keep your account safe, beware of scammers posing as Bitpanda via emails, SMS, or phone calls. They may try to trick you into clicking harmful links, scanning QR codes, entering credentials on fake login pages, sharing sensitive information (payment details, passwords, 2FA codes), or sending money. Stay alert and verify before taking any action.

Your safety is our top priority

Smishing texts can appear alongside real messages due to sender spoofing and weak network verification, making them hard to detect. Phishing emails can also seem legitimate, as attackers use official logos and formats to mimic trusted sources. Activate Anti-Phishing Codes and follow these key guidelines to protect your account.

  • Verify the sender: Beware of messages or calls from unknown numbers claiming to be our support team. Bitpanda never makes unsolicited calls, accepts inbound calls, or provides phone support.

  • Think before you click: Never click links or scan QR codes in emails or messages, even if they appear to be from Bitpanda or someone claiming to represent us. Only trust those under “bitpanda.com,” avoid shortened or unfamiliar domains, and bookmark the official site.

  • Do not share personal information: Bitpanda employees and partners will never ask for your password, 2FA codes, or sensitive details like payment or bank card information. Never share these with anyone, even if they claim to represent Bitpanda.

  • Don’t rush: Scammers pressure you to act quickly by creating a false sense of urgency. Take a moment to assess the request before proceeding.

  • Reach out to us: Use our official contact form to verify suspicious or unexpected verification or account update requests.

  • Report suspicious messages: Forward suspicious messages to your carrier and block the sender.

What to do in emergencies

Remember, no Bitpanda employee would ever request your login credentials or payment details. We will also never tell you to send your funds anywhere.

If you have given a third party your information or credentials, freeze your account here[https://support.bitpanda.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003558760-Account-hacked-or-compromised] and contact us immediately via our helpdesk.
