Meet the candidates and vote on your choice for the Bitpanda Ecosystem Token Committee

Committed to the community

By forming this Bitpanda Ecosystem Token Committee, we're demonstrating our twofold commitment to establishing industry-best practices for BEST, while also fostering an open and trusting environment.  

In keeping with our values of transparency and inclusivity, we wanted the BEST community to be involved in the process of selecting and forming the Committee. This esteemed group will be composed of experienced members from our company team, independent industry experts, and a representative from the community.

Meet the candidates 

At the time of the 35th BEST Burn, we gave you the opportunity to apply to be part of Bitpanda Ecosystem Token Committee. We had an incredible response from the BEST community, with hundreds of applications. After a difficult process, we were able to narrow down the options to three community members who fit the full criteria. Let’s meet them.

Lukas Kurzmann, Head of Development 

“As a BEST investor since the initial exchange offering and the developer of cryptocalc.cc -  which is a widely used tool within the community - and testnet.panscan.info, I have been invested in the Bitpanda ecosystem for a long time. In addition to my role as Head of Development, I already put a lot of time and effort into the further development of my tools in order to bring BEST closer to potential investors in a fun way.” 

• Why do you want to join the BEST Committee?
  “I want to bring in my ideas and skills to make BEST more visible and understandable to the wider world. I love to talk about new projects and new Ideas and love to work on them and ship great products.”
  
  
• What is your vision for the future of BEST?
  “My vision is that every Bitpanda user and any person involved in the Bitpanda Ecosystem knows the benefits of BEST. The Committee will be crucial in shaping new ideas and ways to bring even more benefits to BEST.” Follow me: @KurzmannLukas

Helmut Siedl, blockchain entrepreneur

“I’m a Blockchain entrepreneur with 10+ years of experience building innovative projects in decentralisation and privacy. I lead DMD Diamond and founded blockserv, a consulting and development company. I'm passionate about education, co-founding a cooperative focused on fair, sustainable, and ethical blockchain projects.. And as a long-time Bitpanda user and owner of BEST and Pantos, I'm a respected voice in their community.”

• Describe your contributions to the Bitpanda community?
  “I was part of Pantos beta and early access. And I contribute a lot on Telegram, and I think I have a great understanding of coin economic setup. If I can help make the BEST ecosystem one of the best ecosystem tokens I would be happy to contribute.”
   
• What is your vision for the future of BEST?
  “I want to help BEST become a long term sustainable ecosystem. An ecosystem with interesting benefits for VIP users that give BEST true value and also act as an enabler for interacting with the wider Bitpanda ecosystem in an optimised form.”

Lukas Rastbichler, System Administrator

“I had my first contact with Bitcoin back in 2013. My interest continued over the next few years, and at the beginning of 2021, I joined the Bitpanda community. I’ve since acquired a lot of knowledge about crypto and blockchain, and as a beta tester for Pantos, my knowledge was further expanded last year.”

• Describe your contributions to the Bitpanda community? 
  “I’ve been active in various community channels since the beginning of 2021. In March last year, I became a moderator of the Bitpanda channels on Telegram and Reddit. I’m also active on X and aim to help bring the community closer to new developments.”
  
  
• Why do you want to join the Bitpanda Ecosystem Committee? 
  “I have years of knowledge about Bitpanda and BEST and I’m a very active member of the community. Ultimately being part of the Committee would be incredibly interesting, and it would be amazing to help Bitpanda, BEST and the community in a new way.” Follow me: @Golgoin on X.

All BEST VIPs will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite candidate directly via the Bitpanda stories between 27.05.2024 and 03.06.2024. Just open the Bitpanda app and tap on the Bitpanda Story titled ‘Shape the future of BEST’ and cast your vote! 

Introducing our first two confirmed committee members

Along with the shortlist of community members for you to vote on, we’re excited to introduce our two first confirmed members of the Bitpanda Ecosystem Committee, who will help guide BEST into a bright future. 

• Zsofia Ferenczi, Senior Legal Counsel at Bitpanda
  “I joined Bitpanda almost four years ago and as you can see on my picture, I’m the biggest fangirl ever since. In my role as Senior Legal Counsel, I am part of a team dedicated to creating a secure and regulated environment within Bitpanda that instils trust and confidence among our users.”

• David Chreng, Founding Partner at LeadBlock Partners & LeadBlock Bitpanda Ventures
  “I co-founded LeadBlock Partners, a venture capital fund dedicated to accelerating Web3 mainstream adoption. I'm passionate about how blockchain technology can unlock new business models and create new market dynamics.”
  
  Why David?
  "My journey in the blockchain space has been driven by a desire to see decentralised technologies reach their full potential. I’ve been actively involved in supporting and advising blockchain projects, helping them navigate the complex landscape of this emerging industry. At LeadBlock Partners, we focus on investing in projects that can have a real-world impact and drive the adoption of Web3 technologies. Joining the Bitpanda Ecosystem Committee is an exciting opportunity for me to contribute to the growth and development of BEST, ensuring that it becomes a cornerstone in the broader crypto ecosystem.
