Vienna named world’s most liveable city for tenth straight year

For the tenth year in a row, Vienna has topped Mercer’s annual quality of living index. Vienna is a vibrant, creative, dynamic, and green 21st century city, with cutting-edge architecture, forward-thinking urban planning projects, and government-backed funding and subsidies for young startups.

The living is easy here in the Austrian capital. For the tenth straight year in a row, Vienna has topped Mercer’s annual quality of living index.

From affordable housing, efficient local public transport, low crime, and a strong business climate to more intangible things like social tolerance, a vibrant nightlife, and world-class culture, it’s easy to see why the city has become a magnet for businesses, culture vultures, expats, and tourists.

Vienna edged out Zurich for the top spot, with Auckland, Munich and Vancouver in a three-way tie for third place.

Considered an authoritative survey and one of the most comprehensive of its kind in the world, Mercer’s “Quality of Living Ranking” weighs a variety of factors when evaluating cities across the world.

But it’s not all schnitzels and waltzes and kissing Klimts. Vienna is a vibrant, creative, dynamic, and green 21st century city, with cutting-edge architecture, forward-thinking urban planning projects, and government-backed funding and subsidies for young startups.

Vienna: Bitpanda HQ

Although European in outlook, Bitpanda is an Austrian company rooted in its home city of Vienna — and with good reason! We’re just minutes from world-famous Prater, a large public park in the 2nd district that contains the oldest amusement park in the world. And the city centre and all points in-between are easily accessible by U-Bahn, bus, tram, bike, or foot in a matter of minutes.

Our brand new offices are located in the high-tech and future-oriented “AUSTRIA CAMPUS”, one of the largest office project developments of its kind in Europe, which aims to combine work and everyday life as well as business and leisure in a harmonious and flexible way.
